What a weekend...

Although pretty low key in hindsight, this last weekend was pretty busy. Here's the rundown:

Thursday, we all got together at Our Bar again to chill with our friend, Jon De Vaal. It's always a good time (although a bit of a drive) and getting Bob out of the house and seeing friends is always a good time. Of course, I sung the same damn song I always sing. How about "Sweet Caroline" and "It's Now or Never" people? Jeez -- I need to expand my repertoire. Afterwards, Kari and I made our way to the St Louis Park Legion for more karaoke. We met Toni and gang along with her Mom, who was in town visiting. Later, Sid went home with Kari for the weekend for his own little vacation. I knew he'd have a blast, since she has three other dogs that Sid gets along with.

Friday, after work, I drove straight over to Toni and Blake's place for a nice quiet evening with her family. Toni created a culinary grilled feast and we hung out into the evening sipping wine and munching on mango-cream cheese puffs. Yummy. It was especially fun to see four generations of Toni's family in one spot with her grandmother, mother, and daughter there for the day.

Saturday, I went to a wedding with my friend, Lynn, at the St. Paul Cathedral. I'd never been inside it before, so it was fun to ogle the interior. Sitting through a typical Catholic wedding leaves much to be desired (like padded seats at least), but the wedding was actually very nice. The reception was even more standard and after buying a few ridiculously over-priced cocktails from the hotel bar, we escaped early and went to Nyes instead. Toni, Blake, and Toni's Mom soon joined us and we all enjoyed the rest of the night.

Sunday, as usual was Brunch with Bob at the Downtowner with Jon De Vaal. Always a good way to start the day and I'd probably spend the morning in bed otherwise. Kari brought Sid back with many tales of snoring, peeing in the back yard, and attempts of Sid to befriend the cats without success. I spent the rest of the day attempting to "fix" my laptop. I took it apart and re-soldered the power port at least 7 times. But to no avail. It's dead for good now. :( So, I had a lot of catch up today after getting to work! No internets at home for a while.

Thankee! I actually enjoy my time with Bob a lot. He's got a lot of interesting stories from his time in the service as a pilot and he's quite hip and sharp for being 83.
