From Jessica:

In October of 2007 - a good family friend was diagnosed with stage II breast cancer. I am hoping that in my life time - I can see this awful disease be non-existant!

I have taken on an incredible challenge. In September, I'll be walking 60 miles over the course of three days, camping out at night with thousands of other women and men taking this journey with me.

It's for an event called the Breast Cancer 3-Day, which benefits Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund. Every advancement in breast cancer research, treatment, education and prevention in the last 25 years has been touched by a Komen for the Cure grant. They are working hard to build a future without breast cancer, and I plan on raising $3000.00 to help bring us closer to that goal.

I will be walking side by side with a group of amazing and dedicated women to support ONE incredible woman in her fight to beat breast cancer! It is our goal that in the future breast cancer will be 100% curable. I along with 17 of my team mates, and all the 3 day walkers are taking a stand to stamp out this disease BECAUSE EVERYONE DESERVES A LIFE TIME!!

Just follow the link below to visit my personal fundraising webpage and make a donation. If you don't want to donate online, please download and print a donation form and mail it to the address on the form. Or you can call 800.996.3DAY to donate over the phone. I would like to reach my fundraising goal by June 1, 2008 so don't delay!

Thank you for taking the time to read this email, and thank you for your support.

Sincerely,
Jessica
P.S. Don't wait - donate today!

The benefit dinner and auction were a huge success. Way more people than anticipated showed up and the line for spaghetti nearly went around the room twice.

Peek at the pics here.

It was also great seeing everyone again!
