Nausea Monster

March 24th, 2005 - 7:23pm by Mom

Kevin was in school for most of the day today. He is actually going bowling with some of his friends for a little while tonight. He is loaded down with Zofran, Marinol, and the Scopolamine patch behind his ear, all to keep the nausea monster at bay. It is good for him to get out and do some normal things. Tomorrow we will complete the last of his 2nd round of chemo at Mpls Children's hospital. We should also be getting information on the testing needed to determine how the cancer is responding. I can't wait to find out. I am quite confident that he will be a rapid responder!! Otherwise, I'll just have to take matters into my own hands and forgo the marvels of modern medicine and instead just fill him up with caramels--it cures all of the world's evils!

Speaking of caramels--that fantastic, magical, fuzzy, cuddly, warm, and wonderful bunny with the dark curly hair came early and filled my Easter basket with caramels!!

What a wonderful surprise after a stressful day at work!

Wow, you sound like a wonderful person... You hold out so much hope for Kevin, and that is what everyone needs when going thorugh something like this. I think it is so weird to see how people deal with the type of situation you are in differently. The people who really know the person with cancer, etc are the ones that really hold out hope for them... the others just sit back and feel sorry for them, and no one needs you to feel sorry for them... they need support. I know that anyone in your family would take the pain from Kevin in a split second, but that just can't happen. This happened to him for a reason, and God will reveal that reason in time. It is so cool that I stumbled upon this site... I am debating becoming a pediatric oncologist, and everytime I have doubts it is like God is throwing something else at me to focus my attention back upon that dream. Please keep posting Kevin's progress so that everyone else will have a chance to stumble upon this site, it will impact someone else's live also!
