Today started with an apt with the pulmonary dept at Mpls Children's for Kevin's pulmonary function test--results were slightly below normal. From there he had his H & P (physical for surgery on Fri.) and consult with the oncologist for the chemo drugs and more information about the cancer studies Kevin can choose to be involved with. Then on to LifeScan in Edina for a 2/hr PET Scan. But oh, the joys of modern technology. The machine was down and not expected to be repaired until tomorrow at the earliest. We were told this has never happened before--Boy are we ever lucky! So we came home, and will have to go back to LifeScan tomorrow afternoon for the PET Scan.
We will go to CryoGenic also on Wed, so hopefully we can still be home for a full day on Thurs. From the conversation with the oncologist this morning, it looks like the first round of chemo tx will be on Tues, with an overnight stay. Second tx on Wed. and third on Thurs. We'll have more information after the results of the PET Scan and bone morrow are in and we know what stage Kevin is in.
We are going to treat ourselves to a movie tonight--Million Dollar Baby. It will feel good to escape for a few hours into another world without the "C" word. Kevin has been staying positive. When he is home has a steady stream of friends calling or visiting which he has enjoyed. I won't have any more news until Friday. I'll update you after we get back home that evening.
Thanks so much, everyone, for your love, prayers, and support. It is very much appreciated!
