I've got new wheels! And it's a Jeep and it's a manual tranny and it purrs and rumbles oh so nicely.
The old cavalier served me well. I had it for almost two years, (that's a long time for me and a vehicle, folks.) But when it started overheating constantly and the quote for the cracked head was $1200, it was time to say goodnight. And so the hunt for a replacement began.
I have to admit that the whole carsoup thing is pretty damn handy. And in it I found the 4.0L straight V6 manual Jeep Cherokee. It's a '91 with only 120,000 miles on it. Paint is shiny and new, no rust, interior's clean and has no funny noises emanating from under the hood. There aren't any power locks or windows and it looks like the cruise doesn't work, but I'd trade those bells and whistles any day for the raw power and fun of driving this thing down the road. I now scoff in winter's face with my 4WD capabilities and new tires. Not to mention, I can haul nearly anything now and if it don't fit in the back, I can tow it in my trailer. :)
So I'm excited. This one ought to last a long time for me. You only hear good things about the older Cherokees and hear tons of stories about 250,000+ and still going strong. I expect mine to do the same.
