Friday night in Manhattan
Hello goober-peeps, Goobermaster here logging on live from the hotel lobby again. Yesterday was fun, after the company sponsored breakfast buffet, we listened to a great motivational speaker, Dr Randy Marshall, who later joined us all for dinner and drinks. After the speech, I headed back to the room for a nice lengthy nap and then headed to Central Park to stroll about for a bit. Damn it's hot here in NY, it was in the 90's for the last two days. Nice walk though.
Then after a cool shower, we all headed to Carmine's for a Bucca-style meal. Tons of food. Course after course was passed around - had to skimp on dessert in order to make it over a few blocks and get into Hairspray. Which was excellent. Having never been to a Broadway show, I had nothing to compare to, but it was great. After the show, it was on to Birdland to see the famous Oscar Peterson do his thing on the piano. Even after a stroke and playing mostly with one hand, his amazing skill and jazz styling was very evident. Absolutely incredible show. :) And then on to the bar across the street from the hotel for some late night drinks before turning in for the night.
This morning I was much disappointed to find that my camera's media card is all fucked up. It keeps saying all the pics are unreadable. :( big bummer. I do have the pics from Thursday already stored so it's just last night's that are screwed. But maybe there's hope - I downloaded Davory, which claims to be able to rectify this. We'll see. In the mean time, I'll use one of M's cards until I can fix the one I have. There will be more NY pics, guaranteed.
