It's a process of elimination

And so it begins...

The process of getting rid of everything I have in anticipation of moving into a bedroom from an apartment of my own has begun. My sectional couch was taken away last Thursday. (Boy -- do I have a lot of extra space now.) I've emptied my oak entertainment center and bookcase so they're ready to go. The dust bunny corners have been gone through and 90% shit-canned.

And my tax return came so I've ordered my new laptop. :) And I'll get an external Pioneer 8x DVD burner on the side, please. For backing up disks, wink wink. Once I've got my files transferred -- it's bye bye to the entire room of equipment that supplies my IV drip to the internet. No more light humming of over 20 computer fans buzzing away in the background. The laptop will also serve as my stereo and TV -- so bye bye electronic stack of wires and blinking LEDs.

Simplification, baby. It's feelin' good. By the time I'm done, I hope to only have clothes, my piano, a laptop, my bike, my books and DVD's, my bed and a few of those trinkets that I can't bear to get rid of. Less is better -- and I've accumulated so much crap over the years it's nice to start over.

Although most of the above rant is mostly in theory -- the mindset is there and the ball is rolling. Let's keep this momentum going...
