Boy getting used to this Swedish keyboard is a small challenge. All the punctuation is in different spots.

Anyway, so far so good. Yesterday's machine fix took a few hours and then the dude that will verify everything will be in tomorrow. That means I've got all of today for myself. So I've headed to the old part of downtown, Gamla Stan. Incredible old-world buildings, (I've got lots of pics), and the royal palace are the main attractions. It's kind of crappy weather, though, cold and overcast.

I've been walking by many bars and clubs on my walking tour, but I've read they're hard to get into and very expensive. We'll see as the night comes on.

So in the mean time -- back to exploring...

New pics 'n new friends. :)

Ate at Trotzig last night. My tour book said something like "renowned chef, five stars, blah, blah...", but it was right. 500+ Krona, but well worth it. Duck liver pate appetizer with a fine Australian Shiraz, then grilled pike with herb sauce and for dessert - baked pear with ginger cake. MMMmmmmm... Then of to the bars to finish the night.

Alcohol certainly isn't as popular here as many people order coffee or juice and don't drink as much. As a result, the liquor that is consumed goes to the Swedish head a little quicker. ;) I was drinking everybody under the table. Fun night.

What else besides my dashing good looks, linguistic skills and lady-killing charm do I have to be proud of?
